If you are anything like me, nothing depresses you more than having to take part in the daily grind. Getting up every morning, grabbing your coffee, wading through traffic only to sit at a desk for 8 hours listening to conference calls and attending meetings. The worst part of all is there is no such thing as job security anymore. I’ve been laid off twice in the last 5 years because of company downsizing. Thankfully I’ve got a plan B. No I don’t mean stocks and I especially don’t mean black market organs. I don’t want to know why you would think that was an option but I won’t judge. No my plan B is in Amusement Ride Rentals. Whether you rent them or sell them they are a great side business. Minimal maintenance, easy storage and transport, and the best part I can use them for my own events for free. Let’s be honest, what other job out there lets you have free access to both safe and entertaining activities and rides? Unless you are working at a theme park I can’t think of one. You can rent them out for any number of events such as:

  • Wedding receptions
  • High school/College graduation parties
  • Family Reunions
  • Bar mitzvahs
  • High school Reunions
  • Community events
  • Fairs and carnivals
  • Birthday parties
  • Bachelor/bachelorette parties
  • Holiday parties

Amusement Rides are a perfect addition to any event. People will come to you instead of you having to chase after a client or contractor. Even the more complex rides like the mechanical bull are quick and easy to set up. You don’t need a doctorate in engineering to operate any of them either.

Be the Master of your own destiny

My personal favorite part of offering Amusement Rides for Rent is that you can work your regular 9 to 5 and still rent and sell these contraptions without it interfering with your regular job.  Of course, the goal is to expand into amusement ride rentals full time but I’m going to take it slow.  My guinea pig event is my own employer!  I know once the weather warms up and my office is looking to do our usual yearly picnic I’m going to be bringing a lot more than just potato salad to it that’s for sure. They are great for kids and adults. My first party rental games are inflatable games but hopefully soon I can find some great amusement rides for sale.

I think after I get the inflatables going well, I’m going to consider finding a mechanical bull for sale or possibly a bear stuffing machine manufacturer.  Both look like they could make my business a lot of money!
